Frequently Asked Questions

The abbreviation ATPL stands for Airline Transport Pilot License. It is the type of license a person must obtain to become an airline pilot.

In modular education, the stages of education can be done in different institutions and spread over time. In integrated education, the trainings are combined in a single institution and require continuity.

The duration of training varies depending on the person’s availability, exam performance, and meteorology, but takes an average of 14-18 months.

Modular ATPL training consists of PPL, PIC, ATPL Theory, NVFR, IR, CPL and ME stages.

If you fail a check flight, you will only fly as many extra flights as the examiner determines for the training you were inspected for. Then you will take the check flight again.

The SEP(A) degree included in the CPL(A) you receive as a result of this training is valid for 2 years, while the IR(A) and ME(A) degrees are valid for 1 year. In order to extend your license, you must make a renewal flight before or after the relevant validity period expires.

When you complete your training, you will have completed 217:00 flight hours, including total check flights.

There is no English requirement in PPL Training, but before CPL (Commercial Pilot Training), you must have English proficiency at ICAO Level 4. It is recommended that you improve your English while receiving training.

A first class medical certificate is required for CPL(A), IR(A) and ME(A) training; a second class medical certificate is required for PPL(A), PIC and NVFR training.

The course starts with PPL theory training and continues with ATPL theory training after the PPL is awarded. You can find frequently asked questions about ATPL theory here.
